Actor Tom Felton, popularly known for playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, will be part of Hansal Mehtas series Gandhi. Tom will play the role of Josiah Oldfield, Gandhis friend during his time in London when he was studying law. As per earlier reports, Scam 1992 actor Pratik Gandhi will be essaying the role of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, while his real-life partner & actor Bhamini Oza will play Kasturba, MK Gandhis wife. Apart from Tom, British actors James Murray, Jonno Davies, Molly Wright, Simon Lennon, Ralph Adeniyi, Libby Mai, and Lindon Alexander will also be part of the cast. Josiah Oldfield was one of the co-founders of the Vegetarian Society of London and an admirer of Indian culture. He was influential in Gandhis life after a chance meeting brought them together. Rowan Joffe is adapting the script for the big screen. Tilda Swintons role is currently kept under wraps. Details of other cast members havent been revealed yet. Swinton recently starred in Julio Torres directorial debut, Problemista, which was released earlier this year. Her upcoming slate includes JoshuaOppenheimersapocalyptic musical The End and Pedro Almodvars first English-language feature, The Room Next Door, alongside Julianne Moore and John Turturro. Farrell, known for his work in The Banshees of Inisherin, has the much-anticipated series The Penguin from DC Studios lined up. On Thursday, the makers officially announced the same along with unveiling more details about the rest of the cast and crew of the film. Ishq-fame Ratheesh Ravi has penned the dialogues for the screenplay written by Khalid. Billed as a sports comedy, the untitled film also stars Ganapathi, Sandeep Pradeep, Anagha Ravi, Franco Francis, Baby Jean, Shiva Hariharan, Shon Joy, Karthik and Nanda Nishanth in prominent roles. It is jointly produced by Khalid, Jobin George, Sameer Karat, and Subeesh Kannachery under the banner of Plan B Motion Pictures. Distributed by Central Pictures and Truth Global Films, the upcoming films technical crew sees the trio of cinematographer Jimshi Khalid, editor Nishadh Yusuf, and composer Vishnu Vijay reuniting with the director after the runaway success of Thallumaala (2022). Recently, Khalid left a lasting impression as an actor in the all-time blockbuster Manjummel Boys, where he played one of the leads. Naslen is also fresh from the massive success of Premalu. He will be seen next in I Am Kathalan, also directed by Premalu maker Girish AD. Naslen is also expected to return to reprise his part in the sequel to Premalu, scheduled for a 2025 release. On the other hand, Lukman is awaiting the release of Perumani, set to hit the screens on May 10. News 18 stated that Ankita was approached for Karan Johar's Student Of The Year 3, but she declined the part. The franchise is being made into a web series, with the third instalment recently confirmed. According to the source, Ankita was asked for a crucial part in the web series, but she declined, for unknown reasons. However, Ankita Lokhande's public relations staff has disputed all such stories, claiming they were false news and that Ankita was never part of the project. Karan revealed in April that Reema Maya will helm the digital edition of the franchise. The statement was made during a film festival in Chandigarh. It was also claimed that Karan Johar planned to cast Shanaya Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan in SOTY 3, although there has been no official confirmation.
